Dr Joe Molete (PhD, MBA) – popularly known as Dr Joe – is a speaker, coach and a strategist. Dr Joe is a dynamic leader and strategist with more than 20 years of work experience; which includes more than 15 years’ experience in the biosciences organisation and 5 years’ experience in an academic environment. His career spans three portfolio of passions which include:
- Speaking and Coaching – Dr Joe’s 1st portfolio includes working as an inspirational speaker and a coach to support leaders so that they are happy both at work and at home. As a passionate, persuasive and dynamic speaker, with more than fifteen years speaking experience, Dr Joe believes that an authentic leader is central to a successful enterprise. His flagship programs include “Finding Your Sweet Spot” coaching program and the Inspire Greatness Networking Seminars.
- Technology and Enterprise Development – Dr Joe’s 2nd portfolio includes more than over fifteen years of experience assisting technology entrepreneurs in the research and commercialisation of inventions. He supported scientists and technology entrepreneurs in more than eight companies such as CSIR, BioPAD and Cape Biotech. Dr Joe spent 11 years in the USA where he studied and worked. In the USA he worked for companies such as Baxter Healthcare, American Red Cross, International Aids Vaccine Initiatives (IAVI) and Penn State. Dr Joe serves on various boards of small start-ups.
- Innovation and Educational Precinct Development – Dr Joe’s 3rd portfolio includes developing educational / innovation precincts in townships so as to drive regional economic transformation. He worked for five years for the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) as the Executive Director for the VUT Science and Technology Park. At VUT he lead several technology platforms such as the additive manufacturing technology station funded by TIA, the Footwear and Leather incubator funded by DTI and the Traditional Medicine Platform funded by IDC. Dr Joe joined DUT in 2020 as the Campus Director for the Midland Campuses. He plans to grow the campus as part of the Imbali Education and Innovation Precinct as a model to transform the regional economy.

- PhD. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; Penn State University, PA, USA, 2001
- MSc. in Biology; Howard University, Washington D.C., USA, 1996
- BSc. (Honours) in Biochemistry; University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, 1994
- BSc. Life Sciences; University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, 1993
