AboutThe Research and Postgraduate Support Directorate (RPS) primarily focuses on managing the university’s research activities and supporting the academic and research staff through research management and development systems, organizing research capacity building initiatives, providing research support and incentive structures to stimulate researchers and strategic inputs which in turn ensure the university meets the Department of Higher Education and Training (DoHET) targets.The division enhances the university’s profile by facilitating the development and implementation of strategic research and postgraduate support policies that stimulate sustainable growth and increase the research base.The functions of the RPS include strategic support in the following:

The Directorate endorses the university’s mission of “Promoting excellence in learning and teaching, technology transfer and applied research” by facilitating the development and implementation of strategic research and postgraduate support policies that stimulates sustainable growth and increases the research base.
The Research Capacity Development (RCD) programme is part of the Directorate’s commitment to initiate and foster programmes that develop researchers. The Directorate runs a number of RCD initiatives for staff and students every year.
The RCD programme provides opportunities for staff and students to support each other. Workshop facilitators are highly respected academics who are experts in their field. Read more…
