PROGRAMMES ON OFFER

CONTEMPORARY SOUTH AFRICA

To understand contemporary post-apartheid South Africa, this programme will focus on the race, gender, class and identity dynamics of society in a post-post-apartheid South Africa. Students will explore the early history and colonization of South Africa leading up to apartheid and the subsequent toppling of the regime in 1994 and understand the development of racial, gender and class identities and divides in South Africa society.

 
 
 
 


 

BUSINESS IN AFRICA

To understand Business in Africa, this programme will focus on the economic landscape and business dynamics unique to Africa through the exploration of several industries. With a particular focus on South Africa, doing business will be contextualised through the lens of the South African business sector. International delegates or students to this programme will be introduced to the unique and significant challenges associated with the business environment in South Africa.

 
 


 

 

THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS FOR AFRICA

South Africa has been ranked as the most unequal society by the World Bank No need to cite this.  This programme will focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by the United Nations member states in 2015. The SDGs are the blueprint to achieve a better, and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. The SDGs include 17 goals that are interconnected and aimed at achieving them by 2030. The programme will focus specifically on the African context, giving students first-hand experience through the lens of the South African attempt at achieving these goals.

 

 

All our programmes are combined with Community Service Learning, allowing for students to engage with NGO’s and community groups in each of the different academic themes.

6 USA/12ECTS Credits
